Painting Accessibility Ramps with StopGap
Accessibility is something that is really important to us, so it was a no-brainer for us to participate in a ramp-painting, team-building opportunity with StopGap, a foundation whose mission is to create barrier-free communities. We had a lot of fun rolling our sleeves up and getting full of paint, and we were thrilled to learn that the 10 ramps that our team painted have ended up at establishments here in Toronto as well as out in Jasper, AB and Vancouver, BC! (October, 2019)
Relaxed Performance of 'Pivotal Moments'
In keeping with our commitment to diversity, PushPULL was proud to offer a Relaxed Performance of Pivotal Moments, in addition to our full show. The relaxed performance featured 10 dances all intrepreted in ASL and was offered in a sensory-friendly, relaxed environment comfortable for neuro-diverse folk. Overall the show was a success and was well received by audience members young and old! (May, 2019)
Dancing With Parkinson's Fundraiser
In April, 2019, PushPULL was thrilled to be able to participate in a 'Dancing With Parkinson's' class. DWP is a wonderful, Canadian charitable organization that delivers dance classes specifically designed for all persons living with Parkinson’s Disease throughout the GTA. Along with the class, PushPULL also registered a team to participate in the 11th annual Jitterbug Social "Fun-raiser"/Dance-a thon to help raise money to support DWP. We had a great time at the event and were so pleased to almost double our fundraising goal! A big "thank you" to everyone who came out and donated to the cause!
2018 Holiday Shoebox Party!
This year, PushPULL Toronto decided to collect a bunch of items from our members and alumni dancers to put together shoeboxes full of goodies to support the Toronto Shoebox Project, a charity that collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to women impacted by homelessness in communities across Canada and the US. Together, we put together 14 boxes for women in need! (December, 2018)
PushPULL's Relaxed Performance of "Weathering The Storm"
PushPULL was thrilled to host a relaxed performance of our 14th annual show, "Weathering the Storm." The relaxed show offered 13 dances, performed in a sensory friendly environment along with ASL interpretation of the song lyrics and speakers. A big 'thank you' to Autism Ontario, ReelAbilities Toronto and the Al Green Theatre at the JCC for their generous support! (May, 2018)
