Who we are:

PushPULL Dance is a company of non-professional dancers from a variety of backgrounds, who share a common passion for dance, performing and enhancing our individual dance repertoires. We strive to be inclusive by welcoming not only technically proficient dancers, but also individuals with minimal training who have a passion for dance performance and are willing to commit to learning to dance at a required level.

PushPULL welcomes adult dancers of any age, gender, culture or body type. Through the diversity of our members, we are able to create shows that embody a variety of dance styles.

What we represent:

Diversity, creativity, community, camaraderie.

Where we are:

PushPULL Dance was originally founded in Toronto, Ontario in 2004, and expanded to Ottawa, Ontario in 2014. The Ottawa company performs its annual shows in May of each year, and the Toronto company stages its annual shows in June. Both companies run their respective auditions in September, so make sure to check our announcements in the summer for company-specific audition notices if you're interested in joining!

The members of PushPULL Dance would like to acknowledge with humility and respect that we dance on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Mississauga, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat peoples, as well as on the unceded Anishinaabe Algonquin territory.  We acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa peoples.  We honour and recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Métis and Inuit, as well as all First Peoples worldwide. As with all things meaningful, words matter, but actions matter more. Let these words be a reminder of the work that is still to be done.
